Open for Business

Kayla is now accepting clients in need of a fresh coat of polish.

In her defense the polish she was using was thick and lumpy and should have been throw out last year.

All by Myself

I'm hoping that next time I'll walk in and she'll be changing her own diaper.

On a cold day in November

I think most people have seen these pictures, but I wanted to share them for some of our family that hasn't. It's also a treat for all of you blog stalkers.
A big thank you to Makenna (www.makephotographie.blogspot.com) for a wonderful job!

Poland

Shortly after we arrived in Germany, I heard the buzz about Polish pottery. Famous for it's rich colors and unique patterns, it is the big thing to collect while in Germany (at least it's big with the American women). Several friends came and went on trips to Poland to buy beautiful pottery at extremely low prices. I declined invitations to go for different reasons until a few months ago.

I was a good girl and didn't buy too much (at least compared to others I was with). Here are a few of my favorite things that I brought home.

My big fruit bowl, Christmas ornaments, and "I Am A Child of God" plates for my kids.

My friend Kim is addicted to the stuff. She's been on several trips. This is a small portion of her collection. It is so pretty.

Kim and I in one of the many pottery stores. The stuff was everywhere!

We stayed at a charming little hotel. (www.bluebeetroot.com)

Good times with good friends.
I have to thank Brice who not only encouraged me to go on this trip to have a mommy break, but also took off work to take care of the kids. I love that man.
It was such a fun trip. Not only was the shopping a blast, but the company and conversation was a nice break.
As far as Poland goes, it was cold and grey and bleak. I'm sure there are beautiful sights to see, but we were on a mission...a shopping mission.

Frankfurt Christmas Market

I know Christmas has come and gone, but I still wanted to post some pictures from the Frankfurt Christmas market. There are markets all over Germany but we stayed close to home and headed to downtown Frankfurt. When the market first opened around Thanksgiving, Brice and I headed down by ourselves. A few weeks later we went again with the kids. We had a wonderful time except for when we lost Kayla for a few minutes. When Brice went to get tickets to ride the carousel she thought we were getting on. After my mini panic attack we enjoy the rest of the visit.

View from on top of the carousel.

The markets sure bring out the crowds.

There are hundreds of booths selling delicious food and beautiful things.

Not sure what this lady is supposed to be, but the kids wanted their picture with her.
