Poland

Shortly after we arrived in Germany, I heard the buzz about Polish pottery. Famous for it's rich colors and unique patterns, it is the big thing to collect while in Germany (at least it's big with the American women). Several friends came and went on trips to Poland to buy beautiful pottery at extremely low prices. I declined invitations to go for different reasons until a few months ago.

I was a good girl and didn't buy too much (at least compared to others I was with). Here are a few of my favorite things that I brought home.

My big fruit bowl, Christmas ornaments, and "I Am A Child of God" plates for my kids.

My friend Kim is addicted to the stuff. She's been on several trips. This is a small portion of her collection. It is so pretty.

Kim and I in one of the many pottery stores. The stuff was everywhere!

We stayed at a charming little hotel. (www.bluebeetroot.com)

Good times with good friends.
I have to thank Brice who not only encouraged me to go on this trip to have a mommy break, but also took off work to take care of the kids. I love that man.
It was such a fun trip. Not only was the shopping a blast, but the company and conversation was a nice break.
As far as Poland goes, it was cold and grey and bleak. I'm sure there are beautiful sights to see, but we were on a mission...a shopping mission.

A mom get away to Poland?! That makes Williamsburg look like small potatoes! Count me in on your next girls time-out:)

Polish dishes are nice and all, but where are the Italian shoes and handbags?

I'm a 34 year old stay at home mom that drives a mini-van. Can't say I really have a need for Italian shoes and handbags...I carry a diaper bag. Any hopes for being cool are long gone.
