Heidelberg

Last month we took a day trip with my Aunt to Heidelberg, Germany. It is famous for the castle ruins left from the 1600's. It was a cool and windy day, but we had a great time.
Misty, Avery, Caden, Brice, Kayla and Gay at the Main Gate.

Kayla and Caden down in the castle's cellar in the Wine Vat Building. This huge barrel was built in 1751 and can hold more than 208,000 liters of wine. They had a little snack shop there where we sat and had lunch.
The castle also contains a Pharmaceutical Museum. It has utensils and laboratory equipment from the 18th and 19th centuries. It was very interesting to see the difference when compared to the drive thru pharmacies we have today. The kids had fun making their own potions with natural flowers and herbs.

Looks fun! Glad to see you out enjoying the sights. And I had to laugh, I have an Aunt Gay too. You do not hear that name too often anymore.
Maybe we should get some money and come visit. I will have to talk to Travis about a raise.
